Into my Arms - Beginner Guitar and Ukulele Parts

Hi Everyone,

Who doesn't like a classic Nick Cave. I've recorded a couple of simple beginner parts for ukulele and guitar and included the chord chart thanks to Richard G's Website which has over 1200 ukulele songs from which to choose.

I hope you enjoy having a virtual sing and a strum with me!

Helen

Into My Arms Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
(play along in this key)
From: Richard G’s Ukulele Songbook www.scorpex.net/uke.htm

Intro: [G] [C] [F] [C] [G] [C] [F] [C]
[G] [C] [F] I don't believe in an interventionist [C] God
[G] [C] [F] But I know darling that you [C] do
[G] [C] [F] But if I did I would kneel down and [C] ask Him
[G] [C] [F] Not to intervene when it came to [C] you
Not to touch a hair on your [F] head to leave you as you [Dm] are
And if He felt He had to di[G]rect you
Then di[Em]rect you into my [G7] arms
Into my [Dm] arms [Am7] O [Dm] Lord into my [C] arms [G] O [C] Lord
Into my [Dm] arms [Am7] O [Dm] Lord into my [C] arms [G] [C]

[G] [C] [F] And I don't believe in the existence of [C] angels
[G] [C] [F] But looking at you I wonder if that’s [C] true
[G] [C] [F] But if I did I would summon them to[C]gether
[G] [C] [F] And ask them to watch over [C] you
To each burn a candle [F] for you
To make bright and clear your [Dm] path
And to [G] walk like Christ in grace and love
And [Em] guide you into my [G7] arms
Into my [Dm] arms [Am7] O [Dm] Lord into my [C] arms [G] O [C] Lord
Into my [Dm] arms [Am7] O [Dm] Lord into my [C] arms [G] [C]

[G] [C] [F] But I believe in [C] love
[G] [C] [F] And I know that you do [C] too
[G] [C] [F] And I believe in some kind of [C] path
[G] [C] [F] That we can walk down me and [C] you
So keep your candles [F] burning
Make a journey bright and [Dm] pure
That she’ll keep re[G]turning al[Em]ways and ever[G7]more
Into my [Dm] arms [Am7] O [Dm] Lord into my [C] arms [G] O [C] Lord
Into my [Dm] arms [Am7] O [Dm] Lord into my [C] arms [G] [C]

TERM 2 NEWSLETTER 2015

Hello Everyone,

I'm looking forward to a new 10 week term of great songs, ukulele moves and guitar action starting this Monday 13th April. And..........a midyear gig in June!

Term 2 Dates: 13th April to 26 June (10 week term)

Contact helenbegley2@yahoo.com.au for more information or to book a class.

TERM 2 CLASSES

Monday 8pm Ukulele Group in West Brunswick
There are a couple of spots available in the Monday night Ukulele Group. It's always good fun learning an instrument and having a bit of a sing and a strum with other friendly players. You just need to be able to play a few basic chords. Each week we learn a new song of the group members choice to add to the repertoire. By the end of term you will have learnt 10 new songs! Come and join us in the West Brunswick backyard bungalow for a sing and a strum.

Wednesday Songwriting Group 7pm West Brunswick- Write a 3 to 5 Song EP of your very own songs.
Every fortnight in term 2, songwriting students will work towards writing their very own EP of songs by the end of term. Each session will include songwriting exercises to get the creative juices flowing, and song sharing and feedback to help with editing their work into finely wrought, bloody good songs! There is one spot left in this creative group. Let me know if you are the one!

Wednesday Guitar Group 7pm West Brunswick - Learn the songs from the musical, ONCE.
Every fortnight in West Brunswick, guitar students will meet to learn a song from the brilliant musical, ONCE. If you didn't get a chance to see the stage play, get the film out and enjoy one of the best contemporary musicals I reckon I've seen. There are 3 spots available in this group. If you're up for a bit of a sing, possibly a couple of duets, as well as learning some simple but interesting guitar parts, come and join this group.

Chicks with Picks Sweet Strumming and Singing Song Group - 7.30pm Armadale
This might be one of the most delightful musical group's south of the river. Every Tuesday evening, a group of women brandishing ukuleles, guitars and gorgeous voices meet in Marilla's back room to learn two songs chosen from suggestions from the group and have a fine time singing and strumming their way through them. New members to the group are always welcome. You just have to be able to play a few basic chords on your guitar or ukulele and come prepared to have a good sing. Hope you can join us.

Chickettes with Pickettes write their own EP's - West Brunswick
This term the West Brunswick Chickettes with Pickettes, girls aged between 10 and 14 years old, are writing their own 3 to 5 song EP's. They produced some terrifically fresh and intelligent songs last term and I can't wait to hear the results of their creative endeavours this term. There are two spots available in the Monday group at 5pm. If you know of any young women that would like to write some songs and play some guitar with a couple of lovely Chickettes, let me know.

Drive by Lessons - Inner Northern Suburbs
I shall be continuing home visits on Thursday evenings. It's been a dream of mine to encourage music making in people's homes. The dream is now a reality and I love popping into student's lounge rooms each Thursday with new music and my trusty guitar and ukulele at the ready. If you'd like me to come to your house, I still have a 5pm- 5.45pm timeslot available each Thursday in the Inner Northern suburbs.

Private Tuition - West Brunswick and Armadale
I have lots of half hour spots available for private tuition in West Brunswick on Monday and Wednesday evenings and one spot available at 6.30pm in Armadale on Tuesday. If you'd like that little bit of extra attention or you'd like to book a double lesson with a friend and learn together, let me know and let's start playing music. Times below:

Monday (West Brunswick): 6pm, 7pm, 7.30pm
Wednesday (West Brunswick): 5pm, 5.30pm, 6.30pm. 8.30pm

I look forward to hearing from you and spending Term 2 making music with you in the lounge rooms and bungalows of Melbourne,

Yours in plucking and strumming,

Helen
